SM: FIRST, LET’S TALK ABOUT HOW LONG YOU’VE BEEN A PROFESSIONAL MODEL AND HOW YOU ENTERED THE MODELING INDUSTRY.

TYRA JAY: I have been modeling for a year now and blessed with much success. I got my break when I put a few pictures up on MySpace and Chad (Modelworkzs.com) messaged me and asked would I like for him to make me a ‘Model Mayhem’. At this time, I didn’t know what this site was, so I took a chance anyways and, after 48 hours, I was blessed with an agent named Arthur (ArbelleModeling.com) and was asked to do magazines, photo shoots, videos, etc.

SM: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE YOUR GIFTS/TALENTS, AND HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ABLE TO INCORPORATE YOUR ABILITIES IN YOUR MODELING?

TYRA JAY: I am a very talented dancer. I incorporate my talent every time I step in front of a camera. I can not do a photo shoot without music. I feel like dancing is like posing, just slow it down a little.

SM: NOW, A LOT OF PEOPLE RARELY MENTION IT, BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT ‘PHYSICAL BEAUTY’ IS TEMPORARY AND DOESN’T LAST FOREVER. ARE YOU CURRENTLY ATTENDING SCHOOL, OR HAVE YOU ATTENDED COLLEGE TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL IN ANOTHER AREA OUTSIDE OF THE MODELING INDUSTRY?

TYRA JAY: Education is very important to me. I’m proud to say I just finished my medical training, and I am now a Certified Medical Assistant. I will continue my education in the Fall studying Business Marketing to receive my Bachelor’s degree.
